Our Story

Hi, I'm Yazen. I started Mirewood right here in Austin, where I was born and raised.

The reason was simple. I kept watching friends and family try to buy a decent couch and either get hit with a $3,000–$5,000 price tag or end up with something cheap that fell apart in a year. Both felt wrong. So I started Mirewood to do it differently — real couches, built well, sold at a price that actually makes sense.

Since launching, we've helped thousands of people find the right couch for their living room, their kids, their dogs, and their budget. That part's still my favorite.

What we make

Brand-new modular cloud sofas built for everyday life. Our two flagship lines:

The Halo Collection — our cloud-style modular sectional with a medium-firm cloud feel. Soft, supportive seats; fully removable, machine-washable performance fabric covers; modular pieces you can rearrange or expand. Available as 2-seat, 3-seat, 4-seat, and 5-seat U-shaped corner configurations, in white, beige, and black.

The Valen Collection — the deeper cloud sink-in option. Multi-layer cushions (pocket coils + high-density foam + down-blend wrap) give the Valen the same fall-into-it feel as RH Cloud and Anabei, at a fraction of the price. Same washable-cover system, same modular philosophy, with linen-blend covers for a softer aesthetic.

Every piece ships with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and a 30-day return window for unassembled items in original packaging.

How we build

  • Frames: kiln-dried solid hardwood, joined with corner blocks and dowels (not staples)
  • Cushions: high-resilience, high-density foam wrapped in a softer top layer for the sink-in feel
  • Covers: performance fabric — tightly woven, stain-resistant, fully removable, machine-washable, dryer-safe on low
  • Modular system: every piece connects with hidden steel clips, so the sofa stays put when you sit but breaks down in 60 seconds when you move
  • Shipping: flat-packed and shipped within 72 hours of order. Free U.S. shipping. Most customers assemble in under 30 minutes, no tools required.

A mire is wet, sunken ground — the kind of place where things get stuck. Mirewood is the opposite: solid wood that doesn't sink, doesn't rot, doesn't give way. That's the sofa we wanted to build, and the company we wanted to run.
